How Do Commissions Work?

We Meet

I offer free consultations. During these meetings, we get to know each other, you tell me what you’re thinking for the commission, and you learn more about the process. Don’t worry if you aren’t sure exactly what you want. Some people have clearer visions than others. I will walk you through all your options. These meetings can be in-person or remote and I typically schedule them within a week or so of you reaching out. Get in touch by email, instagram or the “Let’s work together form on my contact page.

You Share

After our initial chat, we correspond to nail down the details. You can share ideas and images with me to do this. I use reference photographs to create portraits and other work. This may or may not apply to your project. If you have one specific picture in mind that you want to transform into art, that’s great! Often, clients have many options and struggle to decide. In those cases, you send me as many as you like and we work together to choose one. Occasionally, I even use people/elements from multiple photos for a final composition.

I Make

Depending upon factors like complexity, style, palette, medium, and size, creating your piece takes approximately 4 to 6 weeks.

Pricing and Payment

Pricing is variable, depending on the size and specifications of your commission, but typically follows the ranges listed in the table below. I ask for a 25% deposit to get started, and the remainder upon completion. Shipping is added after, where applicable. Additional sizes and pricing options are available upon request.
